Although not specifically tested, our components should run OK under
Delphi 4, 5 and 6. We have received some reports from users about certain
incompatibilities of earlier versions of @ctiVideo with Delphi 4. If you are experiencing
probles with our controls, please send us an email at support@activevideotools.com
or use our on-line bug report form here.

We are constantly expanding our samples library. All the samples are
available here. If
you have successfully implemented any of our products with another development platform
and would like to share your experience and code with our developers community, please
send an email to code@activevideotools.com.

Windows Media Format output cannot be audioless. You need an audio
stream, because it is used as a master clock. But you can set the .AudioFormat property of
the control to WMFAVEncoder_0_8_1, which means 0KBit/s stream, effectively eliminating any
audio samples from the output.

WMFEncoder component is
based on the Windows Media Format SDK (same technology as Microsoft Windows Media
Encoder). Thus it has all the inherent features and limitations of the streaming platform
it uses - including the buffering and the delay. If you need a real-time stream, you might
want to enter the Beta program for our @ctiVideo.Conf components, which are based on the Microsoft
NetMeeting SDK.

It really depends on your application, available bandwidth and
quality requirements. For guidelines, please read the compression parameters description here.

You need Windows Media Player 6.4 or later to play the files, created
with WMFEncoder. If the machine is missing a
CODEC and it's connected to the Internet, the player will attempt to download the missing
CODEC automatically from Microsoft's web site. Try connecting to the Internet while
playing the files for the first time, so your system can be updated with all the necessary
CODECs.

The evaluation version does stream, but unfortunately the length of
the encoding session is limited to 15 seconds, which makes live connection, buffering and
playback very difficult to test. We have a demo live stream on our live demo web site. To
view it, please, click the Live Demo button from the menu on the left.

You can use Windows Media Player (www.windowsmedia.com)
or any other player, which supports WMF format. To open a file, just point the player to
the fully qualified filename. To open a live stream, point the player to a URL like this: mms://hostname:port
where hostname is the name or IP address of the machine, running
the WMFEncoder component and port is the value of the OutputPort
property of the control.
